The fourth most important attribute to look for when you’re buying dirt bike goggles is the contrast to light.  If you buy a pair that has a dark tint for sunny days, you might be in trouble when the sun goes down or is casting a shadow over the ground you’re about to ride on.  Some people will ride with a clear lens as they’re not planning on looking into the sun when they’re riding.  Lastly, they make a light sensitive lens, called photochromic lenses, which will adjust to the amount of sunlight there is, however, these can be problematic due to lack of speed in transitioning.  Again, Pro grip makes the fastest transitioning lens in dirt bike goggles on the market, adjusting in about 4 seconds.

When you’re in the process of looking for the goggles that best suits your needs, you need to take into consideration which aspect of the goggle is most important to you.  For example, having a good tear-off system may be the most important attribute to you, so I’d suggest Oakley which in my opinion has the best tear-off system currently available.  If you use cheap tear-off’s you may experience sort of a mirror effect.

If you’re going to invest in a good pair of dirt bike goggles there’s two other small things I’d suggest.  First, get a pair with a scratch-resistant lens because it’s amazing how much a small scratch can obscure your vision.  Secondly, triple-layer face foam (also referred to as triple-density fleece foam) helps a lot to wick away sweat which is important since sweat burns when it gets in your eye.  As you should be able to tell investing in a good pair of goggles is crucial to your success on a dirt bike as being able to see clearly is a plus.
